SAN ANGEL INN

This setting was so beautiful and hard to beat. It is in a former monastery, atop a historic neighborhood of brightly painted walls and cobblestone streets. The patio is beyond lovely. The food is so good and for sure had my favorite margarita here. It is served in a martini glass with fresh lime juice and tequila in a miniature ice bucket. Perfection! We had gazpacho, steak tacos, and because we were feeling adventurous, escamoles- ant larvae, a dish native to Central Mexico, once considered a delicacy by the Aztecs, which is surprisingly good.
