Hi, it’s me kelly!
I have had more conversations with myself than I can count on both hands about starting a personal blog. Ironically, I planned to start this when I moved to NYC over ten years ago with three of my four children. I moved across the country with a one-year-old, a toddler, and my 14-year-old daughter, who was starting high school. I left my oldest, a senior, in California with his grandmother to finish his last year of high school to pursue his dream of becoming a professional baseball player. Maybe this is why I never found the time to get started. I had none.
It was going to be something about a suburban mom moving to the big city, the reverse dream of so many. Then I thought I would start something when I turned 50 and entering my next phase when I would have more time to myself. (Ha!) That was four years ago...
Now my children are 10, 13, 23, and 27, not that they don’t need me, but they don’t always want me right there.
So here goes nothing!
I am excited to share the news that I’m finally going public and starting that blog that I’ve imagined over the past 10 years.
I guess this is a Covid “silver-lining” story. I don’t want to put anything on hold anymore, I am going to step out of my comfort zone, and I am going to do my best to stay there. That will always be a source for good material, right?
I am reemerging after this year of uncertainty, loss, and change that is out of my control. I am healing from two wrist fractures and surgeries, and I am ready to move on!
Enter Kel’s Travel; which is actually the name of the travel planning company I had started years ago before my youngest children were born. I am reclaiming this idea that was not only a business; it was my way of staying connected to the world while preoccupied at home raising my kids. Here I plan to share all the things that I am most passionate about. I love to travel, and when not traveling, I love to research travel for fun. I love to capture moments through photographs and stories about the people and places I love that inspire me. I’m really just a LOVER of life.
