I enjoy cooking. It makes me happy sharing a meal with those I love. Rather than attempting too much outside of my comfort zone, I keep things easy. I am able to add new things to test them out as I go and continue to add to my repertoire.
Cooking simple meals for friends and family with my sisters is something we share and look forward to doing when we are together. We all enjoy it so much that we even considered doing a “Sisters Cookbook” long ago. I think we may have to revisit that someday. I’m all about keeping it simple and healthy, and we all love to eat!
I’ve always loved to travel. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that my father was a pilot for Pan American Airlines and my mother was a flight attendant. It’s how they met which is incredibly romantic. I guess you could say it’s in our blood. In fact, she was pregnant with me for some of her last flights. In 1967 you couldn’t be pregnant and still fly so she had to retire when I was born.
Both of my parents always wanted to travel the world. I admire them so much for following their dreams. I am so grateful for the trips they took me on and the unforgettable memories that we’ve shared. I dream about all of the places that I want to go and where I’ve already been. There are few things that I love more than researching a destination, especially the food! It’s always about the food, ha!
My father inspired to me get my pilot’s license when I was 20 years old. At that time I contemplated following in his footsteps. He taught me how to fly. Literally.
I would say I’m a seeker of happiness and continuously searching for ways to ensure a genuinely happy lifestyle. It is what makes me feel healthy. I am incredibly mindful of keeping things uncomplicated. I want to make sure that I am living my best life. I feel like I am able to do that by doing the things that I love. Nothing fulfills me more than being with and taking care of my family. I have four kids so that takes up a substantial amount of time, but it’s important that I take time for myself and do the things I’m passionate about.
Being with my horse Groovy gives me immense joy, I could burst. He is my meditation, connecting me to nature and giving me peace. It’s also so important to try new things at any stage of life which is why I was so excited to finally try surfing at 50.
It’s never too late to discover new things. I am constantly evolving and exploring different parts of myself. It’s what keeps me young. I truly believe it’s a state of mind. There are so many sides to me, to all of us. Being a mom is most important to me but I am so much more than that. Life is short. So live, love, and be happy!
